Stephanie Bongiovi celebrates college graduation with Her Father, Jon Bon Jovi

It was a great day for parents of New School graduates. It was an even greater day for Jon Bon Jovi.
The iconic singer’s 23-year-old daughter, Stephanie Bongiovi, was awarded a liberal arts degree on Thursday during the New York City school’s commencement ceremony. The Bon Jovi frontman was there in total (cool) dad mode — jeans, blazer, shades, and a camera.
He posed for photos with his only daughter (with wife Dorothea Hurley Bongiovi), who shares more than a passing resemblance to the singer. She wore a red robe and black cap and had her long hair styled down.

We say it was an especially great day for dad because he almost didn’t see this day — neither did Stephanie. In 2012, when she was freshman at Hamilton College in upstate New York, she overdosed on heroin in her dorm room. She was also arrested for drug possession (police found heroin, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia on the scene), however, charges against her (and a male companion from her Red Bank, N.J., hometown) were later dropped.

Jon, who later clarified that Stephanie was not injecting heroin, subsequently described the incident as his “worst moment as a father.” And while “it was a terrible tragic lesson of life,” he said, “I thank God every day because she is whole. It happened and it has gone. I know personally people whose sons and daughters, where it was a lot, lot worse. That could have been Stephanie.”

The rocker has said he has a very close relationship with all of his kids (he also has three sons), and it sure looked that way in February when he called Stephanie out on stage and she danced with him to his song “I’ve Got the Girl.” (She had previously danced onstage with him to the tune when she was 7.)

He told the audience, “I wrote this song for that little baby, who’s now not such a little baby anymore.”
Bon Jovi is in full graduation mode. Last week, he surprised students at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey by doing a surprise performance.

Robert downey jr spends 11.9 million for Windmill cottage

Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, Susan, who live much of the year in Malibu, have purchased a property on Main Street in the Village of East Hampton, in a transaction first reported by behindthehedges.com. Known as the Edward DeRose Windmill Cottage, the residence had been listed last year for $11,950,000. (Not a stretch, as Mr. Downey three years in a row topped the list of Hollywood’s highest-paid actors.) One has to wonder if Mr. Downey, if he is in town checking out his new digs, will stop by the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett on the 26th to catch the performance of Keifer Sutherland. The two, sons of famous fathers—the director Robert Downey Sr. and the actor Donald Sutherland—were roommates for three years when both were in the beginning stages of their careers.

The stunning property covers four acres of land with 8,500 square feet of living space, which includes a main house, a guesthouse, and a studio.

It also features seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, and five half-bathrooms.here is also an office and a library in the windmill portion of the structure, and a gorgeous pool for the summer days on Long Island. While the windmill on the grounds was never an actual working mill, it is a copy of an original East Hampton windmill.

Speaking of performing, one also has to wonder how much time the Downeys, who together run a production company, will get to spend in their new home given his upcoming acting and promoting schedule. Last seen as Iron Man in “Captain America: Civil War,” Mr. Downey will reprise the lucrative role in this summer’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” and in “Avengers: Infinity War,” set for release next year and presently in production.

It was also announced recently that he and his pipe will be back for “Sherlock Holmes 3” and that he will play the title role in “The Voyage of Doctor Doolittle.”
